Everybody  Out   When I saw the doors to the Sistine Chapel close after the cardinals took their promise today, I thought, I don’t envy that the Lord will one day hold them accountable for what happens in there. Did you see the cardinal you’ve been praying for as one by one they processed forward surrounded by the soaring scenes of Michelangelo’s last judgement?   Imagine being locked in with every inch of the walls around you depicting  scenes like this.   The work is massive and spans the entire wall behind the altar of the Sistine Chapel. The Last Judgment is a depiction of the second coming of Christ and the apocalypse. Look to the East

Look to the East

Tomorrow is the day we will be a witness to history. However long it takes, whomever the Holy Spirit chooses as our new pope, whatever the world says about the decision, we must continue to look to the east. Some days when I read the news, it seems we live in a world that breathes in darkness… But God never calls His children to walk in that darkness; for we have the light of life within our hearts.     From the East comes the One whose name is Dayspring, He who is mediator between God and men.   You are invited then to look always to the east: It is there that the Sun of righteousness rises for you, it is there that the light is always being born for you. Adopt a Cardinal

Adopt a Cardinal

I feel privileged to be part of this momentous time in history; thankful that through prayer and intercession, I may actively participate  in support of the cardinals as they prepare for conclave to determine the next successor of St Peter. As usual, some talented people in social media have provided an enterprising, easy way for us to adopt a cardinal. It only takes a few minutes to enter your information and have a cardinal randomly assigned to you to pray for, as the Lord leads. Can you imagine the weight they must feel upon their shoulders? What a heavy burden these princes of the church carry for Holy Mother Church. What little my penances can offer them, I am glad to give.   Here is the cardinal I’ve been assigned:       Cardinal...

No Right or Need for Mothers..

No Right or Need for Mothers..

So much to pray about these days:       DOJ: Children Do Not Need—and Have No Right to–Mothers March 3, 2013   (cns news.com) by Terence P. Jeffrey    The Obama Justice Department is arguing in the United States Supreme Court that children do not need mothers.     The Justice Department’s argument on the superfluity of motherhood is presented in a brief the Obama administration filed in the case of Hollingsworth v. Perry, which challenges the constitutionality of Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative that amended California’s Constitution to say that marriage involves only one man and one woman.      The Justice Department presented its conclusions about parenthood in rebutting an argument made by proponents of Proposition...
