All I Have is Yours

All I Have is Yours

The saying goes… that it takes a lifetime to be a Catholic. The longer I journey in the faith the better I understand that.

For example, eight years ago the first time I read St Louis de Montfort’s “True Devotion” , or his,”Secret of the Rosary“, I thought maybe the Lord would have to let me live to be 100 before I really grew beyond the rudiments of the faith; and even then that wouldn’t be long enough. But, I kept asking for more help…more grace…more light.

Only after consecrating my life to the Blessed Virgin Mary, understanding (accepting came first) that she is the receptor of all the graces,

the sure means, the direct and immaculate way to Jesus,

and the perfect guide to Him,

did I learn that, “He who finds Mary finds life.”

It is through her that souls who are to shine forth in sanctity must find Him…

I am truly grateful for the life of St Louis de Montfort and the sacrifices he made to bring us this wonderful devotion. How fitting his feast day follows the canonization of John Paul II who’s apostolic motto

Totus Tuus

was based on St Louis spiritual approach of giving all to Mary and taking her for his all.

“Totus tuus ego sum, et omnia mea tua sunt.

Accipio te in mea omnia. Praebe mihi cor tuum, Maria.”

(I belong entirely to you, and all that I have is yours.

I take you for my all. O Mary, give me your heart”)

St Louis de Montfort pray for us.

St John Paul II, pray for us.
